Facebook have started 2016 with a bang, and have continued to smash milestone after milestone. Having pretty much most of the social media or instant messaging marketplace on lockdown, Zuckerburg posted on his Facebook page the following:
“In 2015 people came together in many different ways on Facebook. We celebrated happy moments, from the Indian Super League to the release of Star Wars. Millions of people rallied to support Nepal after the earthquake, France after the Paris attacks and all those affected by the refugee crisis. And every day, hundreds of millions of people just used Facebook to connect with loved ones.

1) Facebook hits 1.59 BILLION users worldwide
2) 900 MILLION users are now active on Whatsapp each month
3) With 800 MILLION now using the Facebook Messenger app each month also
4) Market leading photo sharing social media platform Instagram hits 400 MILLION users each month
5) 950+ MILLION people were notified by Facebook’s Safety Check feature in 2015
6) 1 BILLION Facebook users actively use Groups each month
7) With 500 MILLION people using events on Facebook each month
